Artist Set-Up Information

Special planning for 2021

We value the safety and success of all artists who participate in ArtFest Fort Myers. Due to COVID 19 impact on "large gatherings" we have been in constant communication with public safety officials in our community, and have worked with them to maximize both safety and success for you, in accordance with the latest CDC guidance.


The 2021 Site Plan has been revised following CDC Guidance. See the site map above.

  • Increased spacing between artists
  • The number of artists has been reduced to 170 from 200
  • There will be controlled access for attendees to create a safe environment for everyone.
  • There will be a non-intrusive "health screening" for attendees entering the festival - an honor system through our chat bot GABI who will give attendees a green thumbs up after they answer the standard virus screening questions. At the current time there is no temperature check being planned. Masks are required of all attendees.
  • There will be a daily non-intrusive "health screening" for artists & assistants and volunteers and staff - the exact format is still be being designed but it will be very similar to the attendee version.

It is our pledge to artists to be totally transparent to you as this "large gathering" situation evolves - please monitor our eNewsletters for up-to-date information.

Artists desiring to rent a tent and/or booth setup may do so only through Tents4Events - they supply artist style tents & equipment - No other tent rental companies are allowed.

Artists must confine their set-up to the space allocated by ArtFest Fort Myers and not in any way infringe on the space of neighboring artists. Space allocations are based Fire Marshall rules and in 2021 on CDC Guidance and no infringements will be tolerated. NEWLY ADDED FOR 2021 DUE TO SOME ARTIST ABUSE IN PRIOR YEARS - this has always be our policy but it is now necessary to add it to the written rules for enforcement.

We have worked in conjunction with national and state health guidelines; festival & event trade associations; medical professionals and local government to create a comprehensive safety plan that is intended to mitigate risks as much as possible so we may gather; enjoy the art festival and generate revenue for artists.

Artists Are Required to Set Up Friday, February 5, 2021

Set up begins on Friday, February 5, during your scheduled set-up time shown on the chart below. Set up Times have been staggered to create the best traffic flow and artist access. If you are late arriving, you will have to park off site and dolly to your booth. It is crucial that everyone follow the Set-Up times and process. In this year of COVID Safety, everything is being carefully planned for health and safety.

If you arrive in town on Friday, February 5th, before your Set-up Time – Please do not attempt to drive on to the festival site - there will be no exceptions made for Set-up prior to your scheduled time. Your waiting zone is in a large grassy lot at 2301 Grand Avenue, Fort Myers, FL 33901. Please look for the Entrance Flags.

When you arrive at your assigned Set-up Time (see chart below), proceed to your assigned staging lot. Look for Entrance flags. Volunteers are at the staging lots ready to help all of the Artists get lined up. Please have your booth number ready! Please have your booth number ready!

Set up times have been designed to allow artists to enter the festival site in an order that creates the least street blockage by artist vans. Artists who do not arrive during their designated set up time may experience significant delay in getting to their booth space or will have to dolly-in.

When you arrive at your booth location, please be considerate of our volunteers and other artists.

The majority of artists will be staged in one grassy parking lot south of the festival and coming to the site in booth # order. You MUST arrive on time to make this work for everyone. In some areas of the site, artists will have 1 1⁄2 hours to unload and move their vehicles – see specific booth # instructions below. Please remember: our plan is set up with one-way traffic ONLY.


If you arrive in town on Friday, February 5, before your set up time, PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE ON TO THE FESTIVAL SITE. We have a great area for you to park and wait for your set up time to begin at 2301 Grande Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33901.


Artist Check-In is open from 11am – 4:30pm and is located on the East Porch at The Caloosa Sound Convention Center (1375 Monroe St, Fort Myers, FL 33901) – look for the big red Welcome flags. DON’T FORGET YOUR ID – IT IS REQUIRED. Check-in has your Welcome Envelope, containing your parking pass, booth card, name tags, and other info. Artists may Check-in before, during or after they set-up BUT MUST COME IN PERSON WITH YOUR ID & IF YOU ARE PARTNERS THEN BOTH MUST COME CHECK IN.


Winter can be a windy time in Florida and this is particularly true for locations near the river. We urge all artists to be prepared for all weather conditions – wind and rain.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR TENT WEIGHTS INSTALLED ON YOUR TENT regardless of weather conditions – for you & your neighbors’ protection! Artist Welcome Team and Artist Ambassadors will be checking this during Set Up and over the weekend.


From I-75 SOUTH – Exit 138, Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (SR 82): Exit and head West into downtown Fort Myers (about 4 miles)

From I-75 NORTH – Exit 141 – Palm Beach Blvd westbound. Travel Palm Beach Blvd, about 4 miles, to downtown Fort Myers. At the Seaboard Rd intersection, Palm Beach Blvd becomes First Street. Continue west into downtown Fort Myers

From US – 41 (Tamiami Trail) SOUTH BOUND into Downtown Fort Myers: Once you cross over the Caloosahatchee River take the first off ramp into Downtown. The ramp exits onto West First Street. Continue east into downtown Fort Myers

From US – 41 (Tamiami Trail) NORTH BOUND into Downtown Fort Myers: Just before you cross over the Caloosahatchee River, take the last exit (right) to historic downtown. Go STRAIGHT (Do not turn onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) to Monroe St. Turn left at Monroe St. and the next block is First Street, downtown Fort Myers.


All access roads into the festival site will be barricaded and have security guards. You may restock at any time Saturday evening/night. You will need to show your Artist Credentials to gain access.


Overnight security will be provided on Friday and Saturday nights by a combination of private security and Fort Myers Police, beginning at 5 p.m.


Off-street parking for artists’ full-size RVs with generators is in your designated Artist Parking lot on Monroe St. between Widman Way and Victoria Avenue. Look for the Red Artist Parking Sign. Please do not park in the adjacent parking lot with Green Parking signs as that lot is ONLY for festival volunteers. Check-in will have additional information.


Artists commuting to the festival each day will have reserved parking. The Artist Parking lot is located on Monroe St. between Widman Way and Victoria Avenue. Look for the Red Artist Parking Sign. Please do not park in the adjacent parking lot with Green Parking signs as that lot is ONLY for festival volunteers. Check-in will have additional information.

Trolley Service will begin from the Artist Parking Lot at 7:30 AM to bring you to the festival site, making continuous loops all day, both Saturday & Sunday.

4) Forty passenger trolleys run to help for artist arrival and departure from:

  • 7:30a-8:30aand5:15p-6:30pSaturday
  • 7:30a-8:30aand4:15a-5:30pSunday

(2) Forty passenger trolleys will run every 20 min

  • 8:30a-5:15p Saturday
  • 8:30a-4:15p Sunday

Trolley drops on First St. @ Broadway – signs mark the spot & it is a quick walk to Artist Entrance at Monroe St. & Bay St. ARTISTS MUST ENTER HERE ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY.

PLEASE PARK ONLY IN YOUR ASSIGNED PARKING LOT. DO NOT PARK along the access streets, VIP Lot or other festival parking lots including the Volunteer Lot.

Display your Parking Pass on your rear-view mirror.

There is absolutely NO Parking allowed on grassy lots adjacent to the festival site. These are homeland security safety rules and will be strictly enforced.


Each artist is responsible for collecting and remitting his/her own Florida Sales Tax (6.5%). The sales tax in Lee County increased in 2019 to 6.5%. ArtFest Fort Myers is required to provide artists/ names and addresses to the Florida Department of Revenue.
