The Arts Mean Business!

WOW! The City of Fort Myers is an Arts powerhouse.

Did you know? Nonprofit arts and culture in Fort Myers generates

  • $49.7 million in annual economic activity
  • 1,389 full-time equivalent jobs
  • $6.7 million in local and state government revenue.

That's more than TWICE other cities of the same size. Our community's support for the arts is a win for everyone!

In Lee County as a whole the numbers are even bigger:

  • $140.1 million in annual economic activity
  • 3,875 full-time equivalent jobs
  • $18.8 million in local and state government revenues

Data from the just-published Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 (AEP5) study -- the most comprehensive economic impact study of the nonprofit arts and culture industry ever conducted in the United States. AEP5 was spearheaded by Americans for the Arts, the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education.

Help spread the word about how important the arts are to our community! Share this with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.
